The onion Wives

Hi Bloggers,
Matariki is coming up very soon and I am very excited.
Our class has been doing a lot of research on Matariki, and we have been learning about the different myths that are believed in different countries.
Our task was to pick a country and look at the myth they believed for the Pleiades ( Matariki).
At first I picked the Egypt Myth, but I couldn't find anything really and it was talking about different stars so I decided to go with India.
I looked at the onion wives story and I was really interested I thought the myth was really cool.
I made a DLO about it and I want to share it with you guys.
I found using my own words to describe the story a little hard but then I got the hang of it.

Here's my story hope you enjoy.

Matariki

Today in class we have been finishing off our Matariki DLO's.
For reading we have been doing a lot of research on Matariki so we could teach others about it.
I used a google drawing to create my DLO.
I enjoyed this task and I found it fun, but I kind of found the tool I was using a bit boring but I will pick something more interesting next time.
Something I found hard was to find lots of information to describe what Matariki is.
Hope you learn something and enjoy.

Oakley Creek

Hey Bloggers,
I am back at school and blog posting again, when I got back to school I was so excited and I couldn't wait to do some reading with the teacher.
The teacher had changed our activities and made some of her own for us to do and she would give us a story to read and we got to pick any activity we wanted.
I decided to draw my character and label her name and who the author was and what the story was called, the story was called Oakley creek and it was about a girl who started hanging out with the
(cool) kids, and one day she lied to her mother and said she had got detention and had to go help at school on a Saturday but she was actually going to Oakley creek with the (cool) kids.
When I drew her picture I found it frustrating because I messed up a lot of the time or I couldn't draw the shape right.
I finished and was happy with the end result I would love some feedback on what you think of my drawing.
The book was bye Kate Paris.

ICT OUTDOORS

Guten tag bloggers,
Yet again I have done another reading activity for my story ICT OUTDOORS.
The story is about a teacher named Mrs Thompson, who teaches gym class and there is a girl named Emma who is really good with computers and Mrs Thompson would usually let Emma sit out of gym class but one day she didn't and she was not in a good mood. She sent the class running and called Emma over and they both found out she was some type of humanoid.
My task was to describe the story from Mrs Thompson's point of view.
I enjoyed this task because I liked being able to be descriptive and tell it form another characters point of view, something I didn't enjoy was trying to tell the story similar from Mrs Thompson's point of view.
Hope you enjoy it and please leave a comment.

I walked through the gates and was greeted by Emma telling me about the
kittens at the SPCA.
I wasn’t really in the mood so I rudely brushed her off, I don’t know why but
I just couldn’t be bothered being interested.

My head was pounding and the voices of the children echoed around my head
like an empty cave.
The pounding never stopped and my body felt numb and tingly, I didn’t know
what was going on, I couldn’t make a scene not with all the children around.

I got to Gym class and I was not in a good mood.
And this time I was not letting Emma off the hook, with Gym class. She tried
to persuade me but I just snapped at her and pointed to the back of the line,
I could tell she was not happy.
She made a smart yet kind of funny remark but I just glared at her.

I made the class go two laps around the field and called Emma over, I showed
her the palm of my hand and in the middle was a flashing red light saying virus.
“HELP ME” I whispered to her

My body froze and I fell to the ground, wriggling sizzling and making sounds
a computer would make when water has been spilt on it…… to be continued.

ICT OUTDOORS

Aloha bloggers,
I have done another reading activity for my story ICT Outdoors, it was about a girl named Emma who didn't like sport but she was great with computers, her teacher would usually let Emma sit out of sport but one day the teacher started acting weird and realised she was half computer half human. For this activity we to write answers for the questions we were given here is my work.

The wimpy prince

Hello everyone,
Today during reading I did another activity. The story I was reading was princess Erina and it was about how she waited for the prince for so long but he never came so she went to find him and she learnt how to be independent on her journey, and then she found a prince in a tower and he said he was waiting for her to rescue him and that anyone could be anything nowadays. The task was to create a poem about the wimpy prince. Something I found hard was coming up with feeling words, but I enjoyed describing the character.
Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

The Lickety Split Car Cleaner

Hello everyone, I have done another reading activity that I would like to share. So for reading we were reading the same text the un-washable truck. And this time we had to create a car cleaner that doesn't let mud attach itself to any car. I enjoyed this activity because I was able to just throw my ideas into one big creation. Something I found hard was tracing things.
Please leave a comment and enjoy.

The interview!!!

In lock down I have recently started online school, and I was reading an article called the un-washable truck. The story was about a boy named Sam and his dad gave him ten bucks so Sam would clean his truck for him, so Sam agreed but when he saw the truck it was covered from head to toe in mud and he made 4 attempts to clean it and then finally he did. I was given a heap of activities related to this story and one of them was to create a news report on the un-washable truck I also had to include a interview with Sam. I really enjoyed this task because I was able to get creative and I found it fun, something I found difficult was when I had to add as much as I could. Other than that I hope you enjoy.
Applying
3. Create a news flash story about the un-washable truck and include an interview with Sam.

Characters: Lucy the reporter, Sam, Jim and Beverly the news host people.

Jim: Well hello Lucy, it sounds like you are coming live from where it all started.

Lucy: Yes Jim this is where the un-washable truck lives, and some people described it as the mud
monster and others, mount mud.
But this very moment, we are going to meet the boy who defeated this mud with his bare hands.
Alright we will bring you with us.

Knock Knock
Creek Creek

Lucy: Why hello there Sam, we are here to interview you about the un-washable truck.

Sam: Oh I didn’t know about this but, ok.

So the news reporters went in and sat down on the couch inside Sam’s house.

Sam: Well I wasn’t really expecting a Mountain of mud, but I knew it was going to be a challenge.

Lucy: I bet it was a challenge and what encouraged you to clean the truck.

Sam: Well my dad said if I cleaned it he would give me ten bucks, and when I saw the truck I thought it
was a job for more than ten bucks but I only got ten bucks.

Lucy: Oh so you did it for money. One last question, how did you feel once all the mud was off the truck.

Sam: I was over the moon with joy, it felt like a huge accomplishment and I was so happy it was done.

Lucy: Well you are one persistent boy, so congratulations Sam, and that's why we are giving you this
new water gun 7000 for your effort.

The news reporters gave Sam his reward and he had a big smile on his face.

Beverly: What a wonderful young boy and what an amazing story, thank you Lucy, talk to you later.

Reading Activity, The Scary Jump

WALT use ITTM ( I think that means)
For reading my group read a book called the Big jump. This story was about the coolest kid at school was afraid to jump of and zip line down the tallest tower, then his class mates asked him what took so long and then he blamed it on another guy that was up their with him at the time. The task was to create the scariest zip line ever. This is my one I created please enjoy and leave a comment.

Amazing, Brave, Fierce, Anzac Mascots

In reading we have been learning about animals that were part of WW1 and WW2. Our task was to create a DLO ( digital learning object) , to tell others about what we new and how mascots (animals) were used in the war. I found this task very exciting and I learnt a lot about the war and how animals were used in it, one part I did find difficult was to explain everything in the correct order and give as much information as I could without over explaining it.
Please leave a comment and enjoy the presentation.

Picture painted Hansel and Gretel

WALT combine prior and new knowledge to come up with new ideas.
The article we were reading was  called In the picture Gus Sinaumea Hunter, Illustrator. This story was about a fantastic illustrator called Gus, it was about how he followed his dream of being an illustrator and how he reached for that dream. At the end of the book it had a few tips on how to draw people and how Gus learnt.
Our task was to create a picture from a part of any paragraph of any piece of writing. I chose to create a picture about my Hansel and Gretel story and I Chose the picture to be from the part when the mother creates a footpaths of glowing feet to help Hansel and Gretel get home. Please leave a comment, and you can check out My Hansel and Gretel story below to read more. This is my picture.

WALT Combine prior and knowledge to come up with new ideas. In Matilda my reading group we read a article called The Stag, It was about a boy going hunting and then a Stag dying. during this time, we had to come up with a way to trap stags instead of having to kill them, So I have created a trap to catch Stags. I enjoyed creating this because its a way not to kill an animal.
Please leave a comment and tell me what I could work on and what you enjoyed.

One of the tasks we had to complete was to create a dung beetle that would survive better in the wild. I enjoyed doing this but I found it hard tracing the image of a dung beetle but i enjoyed adding affects. Please leave a comment and feedback so I can fix things and do better next time.

My Machine

In class at reading , we have been reading an article called More than a Mountaineer, it was about a guy called Sir Edmund Hillary, he is the face that is on the new Zealand five dollar note and he climbed Mount Everest. I liked learning more about Sir Edmund, like he went to the Himalayen Mountains and helped build a school and carry equipment up and he also helped make an airstrip. Our task in reading was to create modern technology to get equipment up the hill and to make an air strip.
here is my work.

The Willow Weavers

W.A.L.T in reading we have been practising to unpack sentences faster. I find this difficult with some sentences but I am trying to do them faster. In this passage we had to create a information web to tell others what happens in the story. here is mine.

The Machine

In reading we have now started to do our own shared slideshow work and it is different but it seems a little bit easier and it doesn't take so long. I found this work easy but hard to find different example and explanations, but since I have done this many times it wasn't to hard. Also we were reading a fiction passage this week so that was one of the reasons why it was easier. This is my work.
Have you done this before?
what are things I could work on?
