Rhino's

 Hi all,

I have done a task for biodiversity about Rhino's. I had to pick a species first and then do a DLO on their food chain. The reason I picked rhino's was cause I thought it woul be fun to learn more about them.

I had to do a little description about them and what their food chain is like. This task was fun and simple, to do from home.

if there's anything I can do to make my work better than please let me know.

Newsletter

 Kia Ora everyone,

Today I finished my writing task during online school.

The task was to create a news letter about any topic we want but it had to be something that would hook the reader in or that was a story in the world today, it could also be about a person an animal or problem.

I decided to base my topic on Climate change. I chose this because it meant I got to learn about it more and it was a fun topic to write about.

At first I searched up Greta Thunberg, to get some ideas of what Climate change is really like and whats actually going on.

I enjoyed this writing task, and I hope you learn something from it.

Sister Aroha

 Kia Ora everyone,

Because we are still in lockdown we have to do online learning sadly. This morning I decided to get a start on my RE work.

The topic for todays RE was about Sister Aroha who is now a nun and moved from New Zealand to Sri Lanka to help care for the sick children and become a nun.

For my task today I had to create a poster explaining how we could follow in Sister Aroha's footsteps.

I enjoyed doing this.

please leave a comment if there is anything I could improve.

My trip to Orana

Yesterday my class and room 6 went on a trip to Orana wildlife park.

The reason we went there is because we are learning about biodiversity and biodiversity represents all the animals and insects in the world including us humans.

Yesterday we walked around Orana park with and educator that works there; she pointed out each animal and told us facts about them and how they help our planet. She even showed us a lion skull and some dead Ferrets that had been cleaned and stuffed. We got to feed girraffes and I loved seeing the gorrilas there they were really cool and interesting to learn about.

Fun fact about gorillas: They don't actually make physical contact they just pound their chest to show dominance and make themselves look tougher.

here are some pictures of the animals we saw.

Insect symmetry

Kia ora,

Today in class we have been doing symmetrical drawings, using pictures of insects. The insect I chose was a ladybug. I traced the other side of the picture and coloured it in. The two reasons we did this were because a) we are learning about biodiversity and so insects fit in with the topic and b) we also did this as part of a maths project.
