Kowhaiwhai and Koru

 Hello bloggers,

Today I will be sharing a quick blog post about Koru's and Kowhaiwhai.

Koru's are the most common design found in Kowhaiwhai patterns.  Koru is The Maori word for loop and they are shaped like a spiral Koru symbolises, New life, Growth, Strength and peace. Koru's are used in Maori art, carving and tattoos.

Kowhaiwhai's are usually found on roofs of Maori meeting houses, Kowhiawhai represents Maori history, and Family trees of the tribe. Ponga's are also a type of plant and design and they grow all around New Zealand and they are usually found in wet damp places.

I hope you learn't something from the blog post
