Anzac biscuits

Today is the day before Anzac day, and for online school we were given activities to do for ANZAC, one of the activities was to make ANZAC biscuits and post them on your blog and explain how they were created. So ANZAC biscuits were first created in world war one and the first recipe was published in 1921. Later on people started putting coconut in them, and the new recipe came out in 1927. They were made because they were a treat for the soldiers and some soldiers described them as an energiser food and they could last a very long time. Here are some photos of my biscuits.
Please leave a comment.

This is before they were cooked.
And below is after they were cooked.

The Lickety Split Car Cleaner

Hello everyone, I have done another reading activity that I would like to share. So for reading we were reading the same text the un-washable truck. And this time we had to create a car cleaner that doesn't let mud attach itself to any car. I enjoyed this activity because I was able to just throw my ideas into one big creation. Something I found hard was tracing things.
Please leave a comment and enjoy.

Surprise in a cup

Hi Everyone.
Again I have done another activity for topic, and this activity was called cake in a mug. It was a recipe on how to create a five minute cake. The recipe was simple and then we only had to put the mixture in the microwave for 70-90 seconds. I enjoyed this activity because the cake tasted good and it was fun to make. I think this activity was a physical change because there was no new substance but the mixture started out as slop but then it started to rise.
If you would like to give this a go then just search up Chelsea chocolate mug cake.
Here are some photo's of how my cakes turned out.

If you wanted to get creative you could
add cream or chocolate on top.

The Wave Of Colour

Kia ora, everybody.
Today we would usually go to tech, but because school's are in lock down I have had to do technology from home. For technology we had to look at videos and gather as much information as we could about physical changes and chemical changes. An example of a physical change is if you put a mentos inside a coke bottle it will fizz and create carbon dioxide but it is a physical change because the carbon dioxide was already in their so their was no substance. A chemical change is when you mix things together and it creates a substance like if you mix a gummy bear and hydroxide together it would create a gas which would be a substance. So when learning about these I had to pick an experiment to do and I chose the colourful milk one. I think this experiment was a physical change because there was no substance created.
please enjoy my video.

The interview!!!

In lock down I have recently started online school, and I was reading an article called the un-washable truck. The story was about a boy named Sam and his dad gave him ten bucks so Sam would clean his truck for him, so Sam agreed but when he saw the truck it was covered from head to toe in mud and he made 4 attempts to clean it and then finally he did. I was given a heap of activities related to this story and one of them was to create a news report on the un-washable truck I also had to include a interview with Sam. I really enjoyed this task because I was able to get creative and I found it fun, something I found difficult was when I had to add as much as I could. Other than that I hope you enjoy.
Applying
3. Create a news flash story about the un-washable truck and include an interview with Sam.

Characters: Lucy the reporter, Sam, Jim and Beverly the news host people.

Jim: Well hello Lucy, it sounds like you are coming live from where it all started.

Lucy: Yes Jim this is where the un-washable truck lives, and some people described it as the mud
monster and others, mount mud.
But this very moment, we are going to meet the boy who defeated this mud with his bare hands.
Alright we will bring you with us.

Knock Knock
Creek Creek

Lucy: Why hello there Sam, we are here to interview you about the un-washable truck.

Sam: Oh I didn’t know about this but, ok.

So the news reporters went in and sat down on the couch inside Sam’s house.

Sam: Well I wasn’t really expecting a Mountain of mud, but I knew it was going to be a challenge.

Lucy: I bet it was a challenge and what encouraged you to clean the truck.

Sam: Well my dad said if I cleaned it he would give me ten bucks, and when I saw the truck I thought it
was a job for more than ten bucks but I only got ten bucks.

Lucy: Oh so you did it for money. One last question, how did you feel once all the mud was off the truck.

Sam: I was over the moon with joy, it felt like a huge accomplishment and I was so happy it was done.

Lucy: Well you are one persistent boy, so congratulations Sam, and that's why we are giving you this
new water gun 7000 for your effort.

The news reporters gave Sam his reward and he had a big smile on his face.

Beverly: What a wonderful young boy and what an amazing story, thank you Lucy, talk to you later.
